Saturday, Aug. 29: At 12:42 am a complainant reported a domestic disturbance and a female being drug out of a house in the 400 block of E. Harrison St. Upon the arrival of officers, an ambulance was requested. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Eric Bellinghausen, 35, of Jefferson for domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow (class D felony)*. At 1:06 pm officers were advised of a medical call in the 300 block of S. Elm St when a juvenile male had smoked a synthetic substance called “Scooby Snax Cush” and had become unconscious, vomited and began a seizure.
The male was transported to the Greene County Medical Center and later to a Des Moines hospital. The incident remains under investigation. At 10:38 pm a complainant reported four juveniles damaging playground equipment at Paul Nalley Park in the 500 block of N. Olive St.
Friday, Aug. 28: At 10:40 am an officer was requested in the district court room for a male that was being unruly. At 5:41 pm a complainant reported a male pounding on an apartment door with a hammer at a residence in the 300 block of N. Wilson. Officers arrested Timothy Cadden, 47, of Jefferson for criminal mischief-fifth degree*.
Thursday, Aug. 27: At 4:30 pm a complainant reported harassment occurring in the 300 block of E. Washington St. At 7:39 pm a complainant reported the theft of a cellular telephone at Greene County middle school.
Wednesday, Aug. 26: At 7:02 am an officer investigated a personal injury collision at N. Maple and W. Adams St. Kane Borgeson was southbound on Maple driving a 2000 Lincoln LS. Walter Raemakers was eastbound on Adams driving a 2013 Ford Escape. The vehicles collided in the intersection. Greene County Emergency Medical Services transported a female passenger in one of the vehicles (name not provided) to Greene County Medical Center. Borgeson was cited for failure to yield to the vehicle on the right and violation of conditions of a minor’s school license. Damage to his vehicle was estimated at $1,500. Raemakers’ vehicle was estimated to be a total loss. At 1 pm a resident reported receiving a phone call from a male using the name of Thomas Oakland who said he worked for Alliant Energy. The caller said the resident was behind on his utility bill and owed $953.21. The number the call originated from was 1-844-834-2554. These calls are an attempt to defraud the recipient of the call. At 5:07 pm an officer investigated a two vehicle collision in the Kum and Go parking lot. Ryan Sebourn backed a 2003 Chevrolet Impala from a parking stall but struck the rear corner of a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser being driven northeast by Nancy Timmons. Damage to Timmons’ vehicle was estimated at $500. No citation was issued as most traffic offenses do not apply outside the roadway right of way.
Tuesday, Aug. 25: ***An officer has charged a juvenile male with criminal mischief – fifth degree after an incident Aug. 19 at Washington Park where items had been lit on fire.
Monday, Aug. 23: At 7:52 am Jim Nelson reported a semi-trailer had been struck while parked at Sparky’s. The rear left side of a 2015 trailer owned by Kane Equipment Incorporated had sustained an estimated $500.00 in damage. The incident remains under investigation. At 8:30 am a complainant reported criminal mischief to a vehicle in the 500 block of N. Maple St. The front, rear and side windows had been broken out on a 1994 Buick LeSabre. Estimated damage was $1,000.
Sunday, Aug. 23: At 12:13 am a Greene County sheriff’s deputy requested an officer watch for a vehicle which had been taken without the owner’s consent from 290th St and M Ave in Greenbrier Township. An officer located the vehicle at a residence in the 300 block of W. Reed St and detained a male at the deputy’s request. The officer transported the male to the Law Enforcement Center for the deputy sheriff.
Saturday, Aug. 22: At 11:15 am a complainant reported a burglary to two storage trailers in the 800 block of W. Clark St. Scrap copper was reported stolen. At 8:42 pm a traffic stop in the 1100 block of E. Lincoln Way resulted in the arrest of Megan McCormick, 28, of Jefferson. McCormick was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence –first offense (serious misdemeanor) and open container of alcohol in a vehicle.* At 9:32 pm an officer was requested at the Spare Time Lanes for an intoxicated female who was being disorderly and attempting to cause fights. Scarlett Marie Reyes, 37, of Half Moon Bay, CA, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication*, both simple misdemeanors. At 11:52 pm a complainant requested an officer at a residence in the 200 block of W. Washington for a male that she did not know in her residence. The male had entered the residence, removed his pants and had knocked over a lamp before sitting on a chair. Jared Lee Kragovich, 25, of Scranton was arrested and charged with trespass, criminal mischief and public intoxication*, all simple misdemeanors.
Friday, Aug. 21: At 1:21 pm a complainant reported the theft of a battery from a vehicle at in the 500 block of W. Mahlon St. At 4:45 pm a complainant reported the theft of money by a home healthcare worker at a residence in the 100 block of S. Grimmell Road. At 4:46 pm a complainant reported the theft of a National brand floor jack from a residence in the 400 block of W. Reed St. At 7 pm a complainant reported the theft of medication from residence in the 600 block of N. Olive St.
Thursday, Aug. 20: At 11:31 am an officer investigated a construction equipment accident at Greene County Medical Center. The operator of a skid loader owned by Woodruff Construction had backed into a parked truck owned by Unified Contracting. The truck had estimated $800 damage to the front end. The skid loader had a reported $500 in damage. The accident occurred on private property so no citation was issued. At 1:44 pm Gladys Taylor reported a hit and run accident at 401 W. Greenewood Road. An unknown vehicle had made contact with the front driver’s side corner of Taylor’s 2010 Chevy Equinox as it was parked in the lot. The officer estimated the damage to Taylor’s vehicle at $100 and is still investigating the event. At 1:50 pm a resident reported a baby squirrel in a yard in the 200 block of E. Vest St. The mother squirrel retrieved the baby before the officer arrived. At 3:35 pm security staff at Wild Rose casino requested an officer for a subject who was present at the casino and was on the state of Iowa self-exclusion list. The self-exclusion list allows subjects to place themselves on a list which prohibits them from entering any casino in the state. Dale Fisher of West Des Moines was charged with trespass-simple* and ordered to leave the casino. At 4:04 pm a complainant reported a theft of money from a residence in the 500 block of N. Maple St.
Wednesday, Aug. 19: At 11 am a complainant reported the theft of a bicycle from a residence in the 100 block of N. Grimmell Road. At 4:32 pm a complainant reported harassment at Washington Park involving several juveniles. One of the boys had been lighting things on fire in the process. The incident remains under investigation. At 9:03 pm an officer arrested Nicholas Balderas, 23, of Jefferson on an outstanding Greene County warrant for disorderly conduct*. At 9:07 pm the mother of a juvenile female residing in the 600 block of W. State St spoke to an officer regarding her concerns for the female’s activities. At 2:14 am Thursday, the officer located the female as a passenger in a pickup in the 100 block of S Walnut St. The officer stopped the vehicle. Two juvenile females were transported to the residence. Damien Canfield, 19, of Bayard was cited for failure to have a valid license. Curfew violation charges are pending.
Tuesday, Aug. 18: At 10:40 am a resident requested an officer pick up an abandoned bicycle at a residence in the 600 block of N. Olive St. At 10:42 am a complainant reported harassment by another female in the 500 block of E. Clark St. At 1:06 pm a resident reported an unattended fire under the Grimmell Road Bridge. The fire department was asked to assist with extinguishing the pile of debris. At 3 pm an officer arrested James Cunningham, 40, of Jefferson on an outstanding Boone County warrant for failure to pay child support*. At 5:24 pm an officer was requested at a residence in the 400 block of N. Cedar St for a female threatening to harm herself. The officer determined alcohol had been a factor in an argument but the female did not wish to harm herself. The officer learned of a valid protective order in place between the female he had been called for and her partner.
The officer arrested Christopher Simon Hernandez, 29, of Jefferson and placed him in the rear seat of his patrol vehicle. As the officer went back to the residence to arrest the female, Hernandez began kicking the rear doors of the patrol vehicle causing the rear door to bow. A sheriff’s deputy arrested Shauna Allen, 29, of Jefferson. The officer charged Hernandez with violation of a no contact order (simple misdemeanor) and criminal mischief – second degree (class D felony)*. Allen was charged with violation of a protective order – aiding and abetting – (simple misdemeanor)*. Both were transported to the Greene County jail. At 5:50 pm a complainant reported at assault in the 1000 block of W. Adams St. The complainant reported he had been confronted by a male who had attempted to enter his apartment at which time a fight ensued. The officer arrested Ben Robbins, 59, of Jefferson and charged him with harassment – third degree and assault (both simple misdemeanors)*. Robbins was transported to the Greene County jail. At 8:32 pm a complainant reported a bicycle stolen from a residence in the 200 block of N. Locust St.
Monday, Aug. 17: At 12 pm staff at Midland Power reported a burglary at 1005 E. Lincoln Way. Screws had been taken out of steel siding to an outbuilding. It is unknown if anything was taken at this time. At 2:09 pm officers conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of W. Washington St. Items were taken into custody related to recently reported thefts. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Sunday, Aug. 16: At 6:01 pm a complainant reported harassment at a residence in the 400 block of S. Olive St.
Saturday, Aug. 15: A complainant reported a burglary to a vehicle that occurred on Aug. 12. A vehicle had been entered at a residence in the 800 block of S. Vine St and a carton of cigarettes taken. At 1:27 pm an officer investigated a backing collision in the Hy-Vee parking lot. Veronica Clipperton backed a 2015 Chevrolet pickup from a parking stall. At the same time, Carolyn Clark backed a 2006 Buick LaCrosse from a stall adjacent to Clipperton. The two vehicles collided causing an estimated $500 in damage to each vehicle. At 2:16 pm a complainant reported the theft of two wedding rings, a pair of jeans and an Under Armor sweatshirt from a residence in the 600 block of W. State St. At 7:01 pm a complainant reported a female causing a disturbance in the 100 block of E. Monroe St. The officer arrested Kathleen Specht, 56, of Jefferson on a charge of disorderly conduct*. At 10:52 pm a complainant reported harassment by another female at a residence in the 500 block of E. Clark St.
Friday, Aug. 14: At 2:18 pm an officer investigated a backing collision at 903 N. Elm St. Travis Crouse backed a 2012 Ford F-150 truck from a wash bay and struck a 2013 Dodge Journey driven by Debra Betz. Betz’s vehicle sustained $100 in damage. At 4:36 pm officers assisted the Guthrie County sheriff’s office with the pursuit of a stolen vehicle out of Story County. The Guthrie County deputy had pursued the vehicle northbound on Highway 25 and then eastbound on Highway 30. A Greene County sheriff’s deputy deployed spike strips at Highway 30 and M Ave. The pursuit ended just east of Mulberry Street when the vehicle entered the south ditch.
Thursday, Aug. 13: At 3:35 am a resident requested an officer at a resident in the 300 block of E. Garfield St. The man told the dispatcher that he was going to burn his house down. After speaking with him, the officer transported him to the Greene County Medical Center for evaluation. Juan Guzman was then arrested and charged with harassment – first degree (aggravated misdemeanor) and false report – 911 call (simple misdemeanor)*. At 8:11 am a complainant reported reported a burglary in the 600 block of S. Walnut St. A vehicle in a garage had been entered and $25 in quarters was taken. At 8:43 am a complainant reported a burglary and theft at a residence in the 700 block of W. Madison St. An iPad, a pair of work boots and a fire pit were stolen. At 9:10 am an officer took a report of a sexual assault that occurred at a local residence over the period of several years. An investigation was initiated. At 9:13 am a complainant reported the theft of an American flag at a residence in the 700 block of W. South St. At 1:37 pm an officer investigated a two vehicle personal injury accident at W. McKinley and N. Maple Streets. Maurice Wistenberg was westbound on McKinley St driving a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. Kelsi Gross was northbound on Maple St driving a 2000 Ford Taurus. She stopped as posted and proceeded into the intersection where the vehicles collided. Gross’s Taurus then struck a parked 2008 Chevrolet pickup owned by Kyler Kiner which was parked in the McAtee Tire parking lot. Caitlyn Day and a minor child, passengers in Gross’s vehicle, were transported by private vehicle to Greene County Medical Center for evaluation. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
At 2:17 pm a complainant reported a theft at a residence in the 600 block of N. Olive St. The complainant reported 22 rings, 30 knives and spoons, a sword and a set of Bluetooth speakers had been taken. At 3:08 pm an investigation was initiated regarding the fraudulent use of a debit card and the theft of personal property which occurred at a residence in the 100 block of W. Wilcox Way. At 4:42 pm a complainant reported harassment and a possible violation of a no contact order which occurred at a residence in the 300 block of W. Reed St. The incident remains under investigation. At 7:40 pm a complainant reported harassment at a residence in the 1000 block of W. Wall St.
Wednesday, Aug. 12: At 3:22 pm a complainant reported a burglary at a residence in the 400 block of E. McKinley St. The residence had been entered and a 42” Sanyo Flat screen television, DeWalt 18 volt impact driver, a surround sound bar and CDs were stolen. At 4:25 pm officers were called to Wilson and Lincoln Way for a report of a shirtless male playing a harmonica and singing loudly while lunging at passing vehicles. Michael Allen Olson, 53, of Walla Walla, WA, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct (simple misdemeanor)*.
Tuesday, Aug. 11: *** Pursuant to the completion of an investigation initiated on Aug. 1, a warrant has been issued charging Juan Angel Guzman, 28, of Jefferson with theft – fifth degree*. Guzman is accused of taking a pack of cigarettes valued at $7.20 without paying for them.
Monday, Aug. 10: At 1:02 am Wild Rose Casino requested an officer regarding suspicious females at the property. The officer located a vehicle associated with the complainant at Sparky’s One Stop. The officer arrested Jerry Kobrock, 63, of Des Moines for driving while barred*. At 4:49 pm an officer investigated a motor vehicle collision in the 400 block of S. Wilson. James Hager was southbound on Wilson in a 2005 Ford F-250 pickup. The right front of Hager’s truck struck the left side of a parked 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee owned by Jill Johnson. The officer estimated $500 in damage to each vehicle. Charges are pending.
At 6:12 pm Sue Lucht reported her vehicle had been backed into at the intersection of W. Washington and N. Elm Streets. Lucht reported she had pulled up to the intersection facing east behind a silver car. The silver car started into the intersection, then stopped for an approaching car on Elm St and then backed up, striking her vehicle. There was no damage done to Lucht’s 2010 HondaAccord. The incident remains under investigation.
Sunday, Aug. 9: At 1:28 am a complainant spoke to an officer regarding harassment and an assault that occurred at a residence in the 600 block of S. Olive St. At 2:16 pm officers arrested Kristina Greene on a Carroll County warrant for failure to appear.
Saturday, Aug. 8: At 5:12 am a complainant reported a stray pit bull at in the 500 block of W. Head St. The dog had been aggressive towards the complainant, showing its teeth while doing so. The animal displayed the same behavior towards the officer. The animal was returned to its residence by a friend of the family. The animal was deemed vicious by the officer and the owner must comply with ordinances pertaining to the issue. At 8:30 am a complainant spoke to an officer regarding harassment that occurred in the 300 block of W. Lincoln Way. At 8:39 am a complainant reported harassment by a male the officer dealt with repeatedly over the course of the weekend regarding a vehicle that had been towed. At 9:18 am a complainant reported harassment by text messaging occurring at a residence in the 200 block of S. Oak St.
Friday, Aug. 7: At 9:59 am an officer was requested at the Greene County courthouse for a male that was causing a disturbance at a hearing. After attempting to take his 3-year-old child, the male attempted to jump over the railing on the third floor. An officerand bystanders restrained the subject. James Cunningham, 40, of Jefferson was charged with interference with official acts and disorderly conduct, both simple misdemeanors*.

Thursday, Aug. 6: At 11:30 am an officer arrested Eric Rosenow on an outstanding Greene County warrant for probation revocation*. At 5:30 pm an officer was advised that a 40-year-old male had been jogging in the 100 block of E. Central St when an unrestrained pit bull ran from the trailer court into the roadway and bit him. The owner told the officer the animal was not current on vaccinations. The animal was euthanized and taken to the Iowa State University diagnostics laboratory for rabies testing. At 8:25 pm Union Pacific railroad personnel reported a female trespassing on the railroad tracks at Maple St railroad crossing. *** Pursuant to the investigation of an alleged domestic assault that occurred on Aug. 3 at a residence in the 300 block of E. Reed St, an officer has charged Eric Christopher Rosenow, 31, of Jefferson with domestic abuse assault – impeding air/blood flow causing injury (class D felony)*.
Wednesday, Aug. 5: *** Pursuant to a complaint of a bicycle being stolen on July 30 at Hy-Vee, an officer has charged a 12- year-old male with theft-fifth degree. The boy has been referred to Juvenile Court Services.
Tuesday, Aug. 4: At 12:35 pm a complainant reported the theft of change from a vehicle in the 600 block of S. Locust St. At 1:38 pm Julia Poulson reported her 2005 Kia Forte had been struck in the driver’s side front fender by an unknown vehicle while parked in the 100 block of E. Lincoln Way. Damage was estimated at $500. At 9:14 pm an officer was requested at the emergency room at Greene County Medical Center to take a report of a domestic abuse that occurred Aug. 3. Charges are pending.
Monday, Aug. 3: Routine activity reported.
Sunday, Aug. 2: At 10:24 am a caller reported a young female child roaming the courthouse square in the 100 block of E. State St. The officer located the 3-year-old female in the parking area at the courthouse. The officer took the child into protective custody and transported her to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center. The child was only able to tell the officer that her daddy was sleeping. The officer contacted the Department of Human Services. A case worker arrived at the LEC and care of the child was turned over to the DHS worker. At approximately 1:40 pm, the officer was advised that a family member had called the LEC and advised that the father had been out looking for the child.The father met with the officer and the DHS caseworker at the LEC. Upon speaking with the father, he kicked a chair across the room and made threatening statements to the officer. The officer withdrew his Taser and instructed the male to calm down. With the assistance of a sheriff’s deputy, the male was handcuffed and shown to a booking room. James Leon Cunningham, 40, of Jefferson was charged with interference with official acts (simple misdemeanor) and child endangerment (aggravated misdemeanor)*. At 1:35 pm a complainant reported a burglary to a garage in the 1100 block of N. Walnut St. An Eagle River brand generator and fishing equipment were reported stolen. The items were valued at $500. At 10:17 pm a complainant reported an assault involving a juvenile boy which occurred in an alley in the 600 block of W. Washington St. The boy told the officer he was walking in the alley when he heard someone walking behind him. Two people with their T-shirts pulled up over their face knocked him to the ground and struck him in the face twice. The incident remains under investigation. ***Pursuant to a report of an assault on July 19 at Hy-Vee, warrants have been issued charging Wilson David Solorzano, 18, of Bagley, and Nicholas Anthony Balderas, 23, of Jefferson, with disorderly conduct (simple misdemeanor)*.
Saturday, Aug. 1: At 10 am staff at Casey’s (E. Lincoln Way) reported a customer had shoplifted a pack of Camel Bold cigarettes valued at $7.20. Charges are pending at this time. At 6:07 pm multiple calls were received of a vehicle all over the roadway that was eastbound on Highway 30. The officer observed the vehicle at Highway 30 at M Ave. and observed what had been reported. At the intersection of Highways 30 and 4, the driver, Daryl Reiman, struck the east stop sign in the middle of Highway 30. The officer found Reiman to be suffering from a medical condition and an ambulance was summoned. Estimated damage to his 2014 GMC Acadia was estimated at $3,500. Damage to the stop sign owned by the State of Iowa was estimated at $400. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
